Are most Arabian horses bad?

Arabians are the best breed of horse the are smart and have endurance and are beautiful if they figure out that you are afraid of them any horse can be a brat

They are just high strung,seeming to be ‘brats’ I have an arabian and he is the same way. It’s in their nature to ask “why”, instead of just “ok” like most horses. They are beautiful horses, but not for the beginner or the inexperienced. I’d suggest getting a paint/arab, quarter/arab, appaloosa/arab, you still get the beauty but not the ‘bratyness’.

The arabian breed isn’t a bad breed. My friend owns one and she is a doll. There are two others at my barn that are real sweethearts. Their characteristics may come from training thousands of years ago though. Apparently the people who had them wanted them to trust them so they threw rocks at the horse. Everyone except the owner. The owner was kind and giving. That is stories of their training. But it’s the horse personally. That’s like saying a dalmation in bad with kids. It’s really their personality and how they were trained.
My friend got a one year old Arabian when she was nine and they grew together real well.

i dont think they are “bad”. they are just really hyper and high-strung. they are beautiful horses but i never got one because i like a calm and relaxed horse. but arabians arent just bad horses. they are a very fast breed of horse. they are just a different kind/breed with a different personality and temper.

depends on the actual horse’s personality not on the breed. i’ve seen really hyper arabs and really sweet arabs.

Arabians are not bad horses. They are spirited and very smart, but that doesn’t make them bad. They are very curious by nature and love human companionship. They lived in tents with their Bedouin tribes, so they have it in their blood to thrive on company. Every horse is an individual, no matter what breed they are.

I have work with some very talented and smart Arabs. They all are currently good parade horses and so on. But I agree its never the horse its the trainers and riders!!!!! “A horse can only be as good as its rider”

The problem with any horse is always the owner, Arabs especially so. Arabs are smarter than other breeds and are a lot easier to train. As an owner or a trainer you need to use that to your advantage. You can beat some breeds into submission, but not an Arab. The Arab won’t give in to abuse and they never forget who dished it out.

That’s like saying all dogs are vicious. Arabs are naturally highly strung, yes, but bratty is a strong word don’t you think? A horse will only be a “brat” if it has had rough treatment in training.
